GEORGE WASHINGTON BIRTHDAY REGATTA

The 48th George Washington Birthday Regatta was held on February 17th and 18th, 2018. It was another great turnout many  boats for this regatta. Two courses were set. The Flying Scot fleet dominated course 'A', with 33 boats entered alongside the San Juan's and Wayfarer's. The Junior course saw an estimated 19 Club 420s on the line - the largest turnout of 420s to date!

The weekend weather was not always conducive for sailing but each course managed to get at least 1 race in and the social scene was a sight to behold. The campgrounds and parking were VERY busy, but smiles all around. Year 2 with a food truck for the Saturday afternoon meal was a hit. A good time was had by all!

David Moring and Arial Harrington took top honors in the Flying Scot Fleet in the single race the RC could get in, narrowly beating perennial favorites Jeff and Amy Linton, and receiving the LESC Flying Scot Challenge perpetual trophy. Jim Heffernan won the Wayfarer fleet, and Raymond Gresham took 1st place for the San Juans.

On the Junior course, information is still pending!

Results are also pending but Photography is already available below!

2017 GWB Regatta

The 47th George Washington Birthday Regatta was held on February 18th and 19th, 2017. It was another great turnout of 82 boats total for this regatta. Two courses were set. The Flying Scot fleet dominated course 'A', with 35 boats entered. The Junior course saw 16 Club 420s on the line - the largest turnout of 420s to date!

The weekend weather was generally good for sailing, though some rain had to be dodged on Saturday. The campgrounds and parking were stretched to the limit, but no one seemed to mind too much. Even the experimental (for us) food truck for the Saturday afternoon meal was a hit. A good time was had by all!

Jeff and Amy Linton took top honors in the Flying Scot Fleet, also receiving the LESC Flying Scot Challenge perpetual trophy for the third year in a row. Jim and Linda Heffernan won the Wayfarer fleet, and Randy Pawlowski took 1st place for the San Juans.

On the Junior course, Matthew Snyder won the large 420 fleet. Allison Weinbecker took 1st in the Laser Radial, and for the Opti fleets, Mary Katherine Monahan won the Blue, Alice Leroux won the Green, and Max Zhalilo took 1st place in the Red fleet.
